Kapp hat trick foils Weehawken

Bill Kapp turned in a hat trick performance to propel Lyndhurst to a 3-0 victory over Weehawken in a BCSL - National Division boys soccer match played in Lyndhurst on Monday afternoon. The win was the fourth of the season for the Golden Bears against two losses.
Kapp scored twice in the opening half and added his third goal in the second half as he upped his season total to a team-high 13 goals. Keeper Brian Lukeman turned aside a dozen shots in record to register his shutout of the season between the pipes.
Melissa Baranowski turned in a versatile performance, spiking eight kills, delivering three service aces and recording three assist to spark Lyndhurst to a 2-0 win over St. Mary's/Rutherford in a BCSL varsity girls volleyball match on Thursday. The Golden Bears won by scores of 15-9 and 15-5.
Two days earlier, Melissa Fearon was on target with her serves, delivering nine aces and spiking three kills to power Lyndhurst to a 2-0 win over Weehawken by scores of 15-12, 15-8.

Lyndhurst Golden Bear Sports Highlights for Week Ending September 30, 2000

Fontan, Kapp fire Lyndhurst on soccer field

Miguel Fontan and Billy Kapp provided the firepower to propel Lyndhurst to a 6-0 rout of Secaucus in a BCSL - National boys soccer match contested Monday in Lyndhurst. The win was the second in three games for the Golden Bears.
Kapp tallied both of his goals in the opening half and picked up an assist while Fontan tickled the Secaucus twice on two occasions to lead the Lyndhurst attack. Dave Sica chipped in with a goal and two assists while John Beronio produced the first goal of the game and dished off an assist. Mickey Cserik and Mike DeBellis were credited with solo assists.
Combining on the shutout in the goal were starting keeper Brian Lukeman who came up with six saves before giving way to Steve Algieri who preserved the shutout with four saves.
