Wharton Post 91 and Whippanong Post 155 battle to 6-6 standoff

Wharton Post 91 and Whippanong Post 155 battled to a 6-6 tie in a Morris County American Legion Baseball League game played at Black Brook Park in Whippany.
Wharton pushed a pair of runs across the plate in the top of the first with Whippanong knotting the game in the bottom of the second. Wharton edged in front 3-2 in the third and tacked on three runs in the sixth to open up a 6-2 advantage. Whippanong rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth and tied the game in the seventh with two runs,
Jerry Casale singled and doubles for Wharton while Brett Coleman singled with Jason Losey and Dan McDonald legging out two-baggers. Phil Somich led the Whippanong attack with a single and double while Michael Ocejo tripled and Steve Salemme chipped in with a double. Dan Frazier turned the defensive play of the game, making a great catch in right field and firing a strike to first base to double up the runner.
