East Hanover Township

First settlers arrived in 1710 and the first non-native property owners are
John Budd, Daniel Coxe, William Penn and Rebecca Wheeler. In 1755, the First Presbyterian Church is erected. It
is demolished in 1835 and a new one is erected. |
In 1928, the 8.2 square mile township is incororated after breaking away
from Hanover Township. In 1939, Hanover Airport (since closed) opens and Hanover Park High School opens its doors
in 1956. |

Located at the eastern end of Morris County, the township is governed by
a four-member council chosen at-large for three-year teams while a mayor is elected for a four-year term. |
