East Hanover Township

First settlers arrived in 1710 and the first non-native property owners are John Budd, Daniel Coxe, William Penn and Rebecca Wheeler. In 1755, the First Presbyterian Church is erected. It is demolished in 1835 and a new one is erected.
In 1928, the 8.2 square mile township is incororated after breaking away from Hanover Township. In 1939, Hanover Airport (since closed) opens and Hanover Park High School opens its doors in 1956.

Gateway to Morris County

Located at the eastern end of Morris County, the township is governed by a four-member council chosen at-large for three-year teams while a mayor is elected for a four-year term.
