Bloomingdale opens Tri-County Youth Wrestling campaign |

Bloomingdale opened the 2000-2001 Tri-County Youth Wrestling campaign dropping
a pair of matches to Mount Olive (67-42) and Hanover Park (87-27). Against Mount Olive in a match contested in Bloomingdale, Joe Orecchio got the host squad off on the right track when he won by a technical fall over Dylam Schmidt at 50 pounds. In the 58-pound bout, C.J. Outwater posted a major decision over Tom LeGrand. Tyler Cotton put six points on the team board when he decked Steven LeBlanc in the 70 pound weight bracket and Andy Perkins followed, posting a decision over Stephen Ference at 74 pounds. At 102 pounds, Kevin Johnson showed Shatner Franchi the gym lights and Chris Dwane made it back-to-back pins when he turned Bill Mauro on his back and touched his shoulder blades to the mat. Zack Heller was awarded a forfeit win at 147 pounds and Nate Adams posted a pin over Chris Martin in the 174 pound match. Against Hanover Park, Orecchio gave Bloomingdale a quick 6-0 lead when he pinned Lou D'Amore in the opening 50 pound bout. Outwater decked Anthony Johnstone at 58 pounds and Matt Paventa won by a fall over Alex Ardalino at 66 pounds. Casey Cotton won by a decision over R.J. Fishter in the 82 pound weight class and Johnson was awarded a forfeit win at 102 pounds. |
