Picking up the prize for low net was the twosome of Robert DeGennaro and Robert Ryan who posted an adjusted score of 55. Chris Lynch was closest to the pin, Mitch Handler pounded out the longest drive and Jim Hundley had the straightest drive.

Golf Highlights at Sky View Golf Club for Week Ending May 13, 2001

In the match play vs. par competition at Skyview, Mike Fitton finished first with JIm Rafter occupying the runnerup slot and Pete Foley finishing in third place. The overall winner of the Porchside Skills Challenge was Pete Foley.

Congratulations to the 2001 Straus Newspapers/Skyview Golf All Stars

Pope John won the regular season title in the Sussex County Interscholastic League and Sparta emerged as the SCIL Golf Festival champions. Both teams place two players on the 2001 Straus Newspapers/Skyview Golf All Star First Team as did Vernon.
Sparta claimed its second straight team title in the 2001 SCIL Golf Festival at the Port Jervis Country Club in the State of New York under second-year coach Jerry Carter. Nine strokes separated Sparta from runnerup Vernon while Jefferson senior Mike Egan fired a five-over-par 77 to win the individual crown with Sparta senior Kyle Helms occupying the runnerup slot with a 79.
