League and Sparta emerged as the SCIL Golf Festival champions. Both teams place two players on the 2001 Straus
Newspapers/Skyview Golf All Star First Team as did Vernon. Sparta claimed its second straight team title in the 2001 SCIL Golf Festival at the Port Jervis Country Club in the State of New York under second-year coach Jerry Carter. Nine strokes separated Sparta from runnerup Vernon while Jefferson senior Mike Egan fired a five-over-par 77 to win the individual crown with Sparta senior Kyle Helms occupying the runnerup slot with a 79. |
